The first 10 days after a hair transplant: what happens, day by day?
From the first wash to the scabs coming away, we describe what can generally be expected in the first 10 days after a transplant and what to look out for.

The first 3 days
On the day after the transplant, the check-up and first wash take place at the clinic. Temporary swelling may appear on the forehead and around the eyes; it usually subsides after days 3–4.
During this period, sleeping with a neck pillow and your head slightly raised, and not touching the recipient area, are recommended.
Days 4–7
The crusts become more noticeable. Daily washing according to your written instructions helps them soften over time.
There may be some itching; rather than scratching with your nails, ask your coordinator for advice.
Days 8–10
The scabs usually come away around this time. It can be normal for some hairs to fall out with them.
You will be asked to send photos for your follow-up call.
